This is the Erin's Hope team (St Pat's Drumcondra) which won the Dublin Junior Championship in 1929. Uncle Jimmy O'Dwyer, my father's youngest brother, and captain of the team, is in middle of the front row holding the ball.
Like it says on the tin, this is the Mayo Senior Football Team of 1932. Uncle Jimmy is on the left kneeling in the front row (his head framed by the guy behind him's shorts).
Mayo didn't win the all Ireland in 1932 (though they did get to the final) - that had to wait till 1936 and Jimmy wasn't on that team. However the 1932 team went to the USA and this shot was taken on the deck of the boat as it left Ireland. Jimmy is in the back row, second from left. Mind you, he already had a medal from the Connaught Championship in 1931, which I hope to be able to put up here soon.

Cousin Fr. Brendan Fahey (RIP 2016) played for Roscommon minors in 1947. That happened because the family were living in Cloonfad at the time and this is just over the Roscommon border.
Fr Frank Fahey, Brendan's cousin, won an All-Ireland minor medal with Mayo in 1953.
Jarlath Fahey, Fr. Brendan's cousin, was a member of the Ballyhaunis seniors which won the Mayo County Championship in 1958.
Conor Devaney, son of Agnes Devaney (née O'Dwyer), and grandson of Jimmy, was a member of the Roscommon minors which won the All-Ireland in 2006, and is now playing with the seniors.
Séamus O'Dwyer, son of Matt and grandson of Jimmy, is a regular player on the Ballyhaunis senior football team (when he's at home - now in London).
